After serving 49 years in the fire service in RI, Chief Frank Brown has called it a career on March 21, 2025. He served the Hopkins Hill Fire Department as its chief for 32 years, joining that department as a volunteer when he was a 16 year old high school student. He was accepted into the Providence Fire Department and also became a career firefighter with the North Kingstown Fire Depatment before accepting the chiefs job at Hopkins Hill. For the past eight years, in addition to Hopkins Hill, he also served as chief of the Central Coventry Fire Department.

Also known as an outstanding fire chief statewide, Chief Brown became a member of the RIAFC executive board in 2013, moving up to be the president of the RIAFC in 2018 and 2019. With over 150 in attendance at his retirement party held on March 22nd, the RIAFC presented him with a plaque recognizing his long and storied career.

We wish Chief Brown all the best in his retirement and look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish going forward on the Coventry Town Council.
