Rhode Island LAST
Rhode Island's Public Safety Funeral Response Team
The Rhode Island LAST (Local Assistance State Team) is a group of public safety professionals who assist departments and famlies at the loss of a public safety officer. The team is a group of career and volunteer firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, dispatchers, funeral directors, clergy, clinicians, and fallen hero survivors who's mission is to provide support emotional, logistical, and if needed, spritual to those who have lost a member of their family both at home and in service. The team is deployable 24/7/365 at a moment's notice. The team does not come in and take over but, support the department who has suffered the lost. All is needed is to be asked by the department to assist.
The team is supported and organized through the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Rhode Island's team is generously supported by the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation and staffed by over 30 volunteer members.
