The New England Association of Fire Chiefs opened their 2024 Conference & Expo today at Mohegan Sun. Chief Robert Bradley, president of the NEAFC, welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. He introduced the president of the IAFC, Chief Josh Waldo of Bozeman Montana, who updated the NEAFC members about what the IAFC is working on along with important issues that affect the fire service.
Coming out of the New England Division of the IAFC, Chief Bradley also introduced the IAFC 2nd Vice President, Chief Steven Locke of South Burlington Vermont. He spoke about the importance of having a local New England chief as an IAFC board member and future president. Chief Locke spoke to the members about how strong the New England Division is when it comes to voting and affecting the priorities of the IAFC. He thanked the members for their support.
Chief Bradley mentioned that this was his last day as president of the NEAFC, and that he will turn over the reigns to incoming president, Chief Kenneth Jones of Meredith New Hampshire. Chief Jones will be sworn in later today with the Presidents Celebration following this evening.
The Expo floor opened last night with a Vendor Appreciation event on the Expo floor. The exhibitors will be open through tomorrow. |
