The RI House of Representatives has awarded a $6,000 Legislative Grant to the RI Fire Chiefs Honor Flight Hub. The grant will be used to take veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials dedicated to their service. The grant was sponsored by Representative Sam Azzinaro, Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi made the presentation along with Chairman Azzinaro and Representative June Speakman.

The RI Fire Chiefs Honor Flight Hub has taken over 1,000 veterans to Washington DC, organizing 33 flights since November of 2012.
